Reed Olson’s Ramblin, Gamblin CFB PickEm

Hello! And welcome to Reed Olson’’s Ramblin Gamblin CFB PickEm where I will highlight some of my best bets in college football each week this college football season. Including Bowl Season.

I am well aware I am two weeks behind on this season so I won’t bother telling you my record so far, but we will keep track each week on this newsletter from here on out. So let’s get started.

Sides: YTD 0-0-0

UCF (-7) against Louisville:

In the words of the great Nick Saban they ran through our ass like shit through a tin horn. Louisville’s defense is atrocious and I look forward to seeing UCF do that in Kentucky come Friday night. Louisville also has trouble staying in games once they fall behind seeing as their offense is predicated on running the ball and creating big plays.

Cincinnati (-4) at Indiana

After a get right game vs Idaho Indiana looks to defend their home field against the bearcats. I think Cincinnati will struggle out the gates, because let’s be honest who wants to be in Bloomington Indiana at 11:00. -4 Just feels like too small of a line. I think our darling hoosiers will fall back down to earth after a fantastic season last year. I will admit the line feels like a bit of a trap, but sometimes you just have to take the cheese.

Oklahoma (-22.5) vs Nebraska

The Cornhuskers flat out stink and will run out of Norman. A sloppy game against Tulane does not concern me for Oklahoma; the Sooners roll in this one.

Alabama (-14) vs Florida

Flatly I would take this number up to at least 17. The Tide are the unstoppable force in this sport. Bryce Young is amazing and Nick Saban owns the SEC east, take the Tide and the Number and don’t get scared just because it’s in the Swamp.

Auburn (+6.5) at Penn St

This may be my SEC Bias getting to me seeing as Auburn hasn’t really played anyone yet and Penn St has already gone into Camp Randell and one this year. I do not believe in Sean Clifford to make the plays needed to beat this SEC defense consitinly. I am not high on Bo Nix, So I do not expect a plethora of points, but I believe the Tigers will keep it within the number and may outright win this game so sprinkle the ML as well.

Stanford (-11.5) vs Vandy

The Cardinal have already had a weird season losing a neutral site game to Kstate and then following that by a drumming of the Trojans in Los Angeles, However Vandy is one of the worst teams in the FBS maybe slightly better than UCONN just maybe. Vandy Stinks the Cardinal will get it done in this one.

Boise State (-4) vs Okie St.

The Cowboys are not a very good football team and going playing on the smurf turf will not help their case. In the age old battle of Cowboys trying to ride Broncos I love the boys from Boise this week.

Totals: YTD 0-0-0

Maryland at Illinois (Under 60.5)

The Illini are still not a good football team despite that heartwarming week one win over Nebraska.  They will however play belima ball which should help with this under I don’t believe in their passing attack and I’m just hoping this is not the one week every year the terps decide to hang 50 on some bad Big 10 team.

Michigan St at Miami (FL) (Under 56)

Nothing worse than having an over and having to root for the slow ass spartans to get you a score late. Manny Diaz does not have “THE U ” back D’eriq King may make this one spicy and expect a weird score at some point in this game just based on the two teams involved, but I like this one to stay under the number.

Northern IL at Michigan (Over 54.5)

Nothing Jim Harbaugh loves more than running up the score against inferior oppenetts. With the Big House rocking and coach Harbaugh trying to get all the style points he can before he has to play Ohio St. I like the Wolverines to score a boatload of points. Can we count on the Huskies to put up a score or two I think so.

UCONN at Army (Over 47.5)

The Huskies are one of the saddest stories so far in the early college football season. They are not good at football and having to go play the Black Knights at West point almost makes me feel bad for them. The Cadets will put up 40+ in this game and I like UCONN to get a score or maybe even two playing inspired for their new interim coach.

Virginia Tech at West Virginia (Over 50.5)

Things always get a little weird in Morgantown, West Virginia. I expect this game to be no different, not sure exactly how and in what odd ways these two teams will get to 51, but I just know I don’t want to be holding that under ticket come the fourth quarter.

Georgia Southern at Arkansas (Over 52.5)

As a Razorback Student our win over Texas last week was pure ecstasy. That being said with the Hogs being ranked for the first time and facing a triple option team and favored by over three scores and a look ahead game with Texas A&M up next I am scared to take the number. I do think this game will be fast, but I am mainly betting this to allow myself to breathe after the hogs give up some potentially late scores. Feel especially free to fade this one.

San Jose St. at Hawaii (Over 61.5)

Hawaii on Island come on you know you’re gonna be chasing at the end of the night just bet this over and enjoy it.
