YTD 102-98-3
A little 9-6 week that’s not to bad at all. We had a fairly hot start to the day on Saturday starting out 6-1 on our sides then losing the last three to finish 6-4, but two of those three losses I would take again and I felt were the right side that just came up a little short. I am writing this the morning of thanksgiving I hope you all are sneaking away for a few minutes to read this article for a pick tonight on the Egg bowl along with all the black friday action coupled with The Game this Saturday. It truly is the greatest gambling time of the year.
Sides YTD 61-64-3
Ole Miss vs Mississippi State (+10)
We begin this week with one of the weirdest rivalries that exist. That is of course the Egg Bowl. I experienced my first Egg Bowl last year where the Bulldogs spoiled the party in the Grove and Mike Leach got his last win RIP coach. This year its back in Starville and the Bulldogs are in another odd spot after firing Zach Arrnett and are again ending the year with an Interim coach. I think this defensive staff is capable of making life hard on this Rebels squad. I also think the Georgia game took a lot out of Ole Miss. I think this will be a banalands game so in that case give me the team thats been sleeping in their own beds before this game that is catching 10 points. Also this is my way of showing thanks for all my Ole Miss boys, because last year I bet a lot on y’all in this game and you choked it away so I will fade you guys this year so you can get this win.
Iowa (+2.5) vs Nebraska
One of these teams won the Big 10 West the other is fighting to make a bowl game and secure their 6th win of the season. Iowa wins the west every year by winning these types of games. By hell or high water the hawks will win this game and once again prove they grow better corn than the folks with Cornhusker in their name.
UTSA vs Tulane (-3.5)
This bet has a lot to do with the off the field factors. I wonder how distracted this UTSA coaching staff is with all the rumors of Jeff Traylor leaving for greener pastures at the end of the year. At the end of the day I trust Willie Fritz and the Green Wave to get it done in this one. I like the QB play slightly better for Tulane as well and that is a big distinction.
THE GAME
Now that we got the tasting menu of games out of the way it is time for the reason you are all most likely reading this blog this week. I am of course referring to this years version of the game being played in one Ann Arbor Michigan USA, between the Ohio State Buckeyes of Columbus and the Home team the Michigan Wolverines. This feels like the biggest playing of this game in my time of following it. Michigan will be without head man Jim Harhbaugh who was joked to be “More Michigan than Man at this point” this week on the SZD Podcast. I have been a believer in this Michigan team all year and that will not be changing here. When you look up and down the board where are the Buckeyes better than the Wolverines definitively? They are better at WR with Marvin Harrison Jr. the best WR in the country and sure fire round one pick. Every other position I would say is a wash or the wolverines are better. I think the wolverines O-Line is better, I think their Defense is better, and most importantly I think they have the better signal caller at the helm in one JJ McCarthey who has already one THE Game once in Columbus no less. When the dust settles I think experience will be the deciding factor and for that reason I will be taking the Wolverines (-3.5) this coming Saturday. This is my last GOTY it will be my largest wager of the season. Those of you that know, know what that entails. CLUB BLUE SUPPORTS YOU! GO BLUE!
San Jose St vs UNLV (-2.5)
Barry Odem fucking rocks. This team is fun as hell and will be playing for the Mountain West title after winning this game.
Alabama (-14.5) vs Auburn
Everything says take Bama in this game so I will lay em with the Tide. I will not be scared off by any Hugh Freeze first 15 Play script or Auburn Jesus in this one.
Washington State (+16) vs Washington
For this being a 16 point spread I think the Cougs are surprisingly live in this Apple Cup. I am so glad these two Universities were able to come to an agreement to continue playing this great game this week as well. I think the Huskies find a way to win this game and keep their title dreams alive. Over two touchdowns in a rivalry game is just to many damn points for me give me Wazzu.
Kansas (-6) vs Cincinnati
Cincinnati has been really bad vs the old money of the Big 12. That trend continues give me the Jayhawks.
Totals YTD 41-34
Ole Miss vs Mississippi State (Under 54)
Two ways this bet wins. The game script goes how I predict and is an ugly game State keeps close and low scoring, or Ole Miss blows them out and State does not score enough to hit this over.
Iowa vs Nebraska (Under 26)
It is to much of a personal thrill of mine not to bet it. Who cares if it wins (It will somehow easily cash).
Missouri vs Arkansas (Over 55.5)
Mizzou is gonna get theirs on offense, but the hogs will put some points up on the board to keep this one interesting.
Colorado vs Utah (Under 52)
Utah football was designed in a high security government land to beat USC, what is Colorado but diet USC? This game will stay very ugly.
FSU vs Florida (Over 49)
Do not care that both starting QB’s are out there are simply to many good skill players for this low of a total in this one.
Parlay of the week
Utah Under 52, Wazzu +16, UNLV -2.5, Over 49 FSU
