Welcome back to the third installment of this year’s pickem’s. 3-3 last week, so not great, but did not put us under .500. Couple of total misses last week, but hey cant win them all.
Bills vs. Dolphins on Thursday night was a disappointment. I expected the Dolphins to play much better than they did in that outing. On the flip side the Bills looked much better than I gave them credit for. Josh Allen still slinging that thing. For the foreseeable future the Dolphins are done though, due to Tua going down.
The Lions game had much more scoring than I anticipated. Bucs were able to play well in Detroit, which is not an easy task right now. I must say this Bucs team is looking much better than last year, lets see if they keep it up. I expect the Lions to bounce back well though and still have a good season.
Panthers continue to be the worst team in the league. Chargers still look good as expected, and I hope they keep it up. Panthers making a change at QB so fast was something I did not expect. Something to take into account when placing bets against them.
Rams. What the hell man. Rams got absolutely demolished by the Cardinals. I must not have anticipated injuries affecting the Rams as much as it has. Or I just didnt account for Kyler Murray to be a… good QB? Are the Cardinals actually good? I cant remember a time where the Cardinals have actually been a good team past them going to the Super Bowl all the way back in 2009. Who knows, maybe they are turning things around.
The Bears game was also not a game I thought I would see so much action in. I was beginning to worry for the under to hit in this game. Fortunately the game slowed down in the second half. Nothing much to talk about here, Texans are pretty good.
Eagles gave this game up. They could not move the damn ball to save their life in the first half. The Falcons were just the better team. Not sure what was up with the Eagles Monday night, is it their line? Lack of AJ Brown? I was expecting the Eagles to look like an NFC leader, but that was a pitiful showing. I am excited to see what the Dallas Defense can do to them later in the season.
Nothing exciting to report on stats just yet this early in the season. Just know Unders are hitting more often. Away teams are covering. and Dogs are covering more.
NFL Picks YTD 6-5
Patriots vs. Jets Over 38.5
Really tempted to take the Pats spread here. 6.5 is a lot of points. However, 38.5 is not a lot of points either. These teams hate each other, and I think this game goes over. Battle of the northeast Thursday night, make it entertaining.
Eagles vs. Saints (-2.5)
Saints absolutely demolished my Cowboys last week. They look damn good. Everything from the Offensive Line to the defense. Based off the Eagles performance vs the Falcons I think the Saints are going to lock up this Eagles offense. Saints win at home.
Chargers (+102) vs. Steelers
Chargers are a good team. I am not sold on the Steelers this year, I am not a Justin Fields fan. The chargers offense will have to put up with TJ Watt, which is a concern here. Vegas may know something I dont, but I love the Chargers in this matchup.
Panthers vs. Raiders (-5.5)
Andy Dalton will not help the Panthers. I expect this team to go 0-16 straight up and ATS. This game in in Vegas, I am surprised the spread isnt bigger. Easiest pick of the week.
Chiefs (ML & Under 50.5 (+125)) vs. Falcons
Falcons looked damn good this past week. Chiefs could not get anything going in the air vs the Bengals. I really expect the Chiefs to turn it around this week, but I cant count out the Falcons. I think the Chiefs still win and it stays under the alt total of 50.5. First “teaser” of the year, even though its not a real teaser.
Jaguars vs. Bills (-4.5)
One Florida team has already got kicked in by the Bills, and that was at their home. The Jags are going up to Buffalo right as the Bills seem to be hitting their stride. They seem to have shaken off the off-season rust. I dont think the Jags are gonna be able to get it done. Bills Mafia at home.
